About Us
Studio D was established in 1994 by its artistic director, Debra Ann Lavender, with a vision of creating an environment that is both professional and friendly, and where an individual can learn dance.
Our noncompetitive approach to a students dance education develops attributes that can serve the student well throughout a lifetime. These include discipline, self-respect and self-confidence; improved learning skills; creativity, self-expression, imagination; and an instilled appreciation for music, dance and other art forms.
At Studio D we highly value the quality of instruction provided to our students. Our graded system of placement of students according to training, age, ability or effort guarantees the steady progress of each class and the self- confidence of students. Promotion is considered on the basis of individual achievement. Classes are not necessarily promoted as groups; transfer students are auditioned for placement.
